The Baderim Memorial Memorial Hall is hosting its 10th annual Memorial Hall Address.
The ceremony, which has been held annually since 1976, will be the ninth time the Hall has hosted the event.
The Bimmermans are the first to host the Memorial Hall in its current location since 2009, when it was renovated to the original venue.
The Hall will host an event this year, as well, and the hosts are the Greenville Firemen’s Association, Greenville City Council and Greenville County Sheriff.
“We have a strong team of local elected officials, firefighters and first responders who want to make sure that the event is held in a way that is respectful, dignified and inclusive,” said Greenville Mayor John Swearingen, a retired firefighter.
“I know it will be a special event, but we have a long history of holding events here and I look forward to being a part of it.”
The Hall is home to many notable figures from the past and present.
Greenville’s Firefighters’ Hall of Fame is one of the oldest in the country, with over 1,500 members and the Fire Department.
The Fire Fighters Hall is also one of three halls in Greenville to hold a Memorial Day ceremony.
The other two are the Greensboro Fire Hall and the Greensburg Firefighters Hall of Honor.
The Greenville Memorial Hall will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.
In 2019, the Hall will hold its second Memorial Day Ceremony.
